Longboard Build: Phase One – Last Photos

Here are the last few pictures of “phase one” – constructing the press.

It’s really starting to take shape now.

The design is 39 inches long and 9 1/4 inches wide, has a 1 inch, front-to-back camber and a 1/2 inch concave incorporating a 3 inch flat in the centre.

Baseboard holes drilled and marked out for attaching one half of the press.

Top part of the press & baseboard.

Lower part of the press & baseboard.

Both parts attached and offered up with the ply sheets in between.

“Dry run”.

Just need to reinforce the baseboards and work out the clamping method; think I’m going to use threaded rods and bolts.

It’s gonna take a whole lotta force to bend that wood!

Can’t wait to press it.
