If you happened to be in Brighton on Sat you’d have seen a 12′ Phallic object being wielded through the streets *Not for the first time I’m sure*. No, it’s not what you (or is it just me?) were thinking!
Saturday was the 2010 Brighton Children’s Parade which kicks off the annual Brighton Festival; Three weeks of theatre, music, dance, books and debates and outdoor performances. Hooray!
Sunshine Day Nursery; that Emily attends, was number 73 *Hey you, get ready, get on yer feet, get in to gear and hit the street… remember that?* in the parade and this year the theme was “The Planet” and we were given “Cacti” as our theme, hence the 12′ (phallic) cacti that led our procession. Helen, the girls, my mum and I all joined in.
All the kids looked super cute and there were some amazing creations and outfits to be seen. All the roads were closed off and we strolled trough the streets from the laines down to Maderia Drive – by the pier. Luckily the weather held off too :0).
We met up with my old man, cousin Debs, Jamie and Julian and had a spot to eat in Kensingtons; how very nice!
We had our 2nd BBQ of the summer on Sat. We were joined by Liz & Andy and my old man and my mum. Drinks and fun were had by all and my team won – wooo!
